example music magazine 4 Mixmag
Hello all this is my 4th front cover where I will be looking at a 2nd Mixmag cover. For starters we can see the large neon bars this is a very affective feature showing the readers how good the magazine looks and therefore how good the magazine is. They've also been very bold with this magazine as they have a slogan at the top: "worlds biggest dance music and clubbing magazine" this is a very big statement by Mixmag but it does attract readers from other magazines of similar genres as they want to know what all the fuss is about. It also has things like "the most amazing shows in dance music", this is quite bold as well but once again attracts readers with the big font and the 2 stroke colours both on the same text.

neon lights
Hello, now you may be wondering why i have posted a picture of this onto my blog. Well i found this of the internet and this is the sort of thing i would like going down the sides of my magazine. Its flares and bright lights give it a modern and energising feel, this suits my target audience. I also think the colour is unique and aluminous green represent electronic music well however i may consider changing the colour if it would look better a different colour in my magazine, or to fit with my 2 stroke colour scheme.

Ive been thinking recently that i should probably come up with a name for the magazine. Although i have thought of many i have come up with
- chord
- blue moon
- Urbian
But i will probably come up with some more. Currently I'm going with chord but it sounds to bare so it will probably be changed.
cover photo example 3 this time from SLICES
This is the front cover of the slices magazine. As you can see it has the usual bi colour scheme this time of beige and black. This once again provides more feel to the magazine. In this post i will mainly be talking about the man in the picture and how his dress shows he is a dance/electronic artist. For starts he has a beanie which shows up as quite a youth and modern thing to wear. A hoodie and t-shirt is also the new modern look for much off the dance musicians. Some electronic artists wear a little bit of jewelry and this man clearly does to with a long necklace hanging from his neck. His stance is laid back and his facial expression shows him as quite chilled out, this fits in with my style of music as dance music is not very regimented and has no strict rules to follow.

example of magazine front cover 2 mixmag
This is another contents page only this time for Mixmag. From this I can see that Mixmag have used neon blue affects on the page which draws a readers attention as its a bright contrast to the black in the background. The I in Mixmag has an emoji of a vinyl over the top, this is a clever device used as it shows the audience that the magazine is dance/a dj magazine once again appealing to my target audience. There is also a bar code on the bottom right proving that the magazine is professional and is sold on the market.
I'm interested in the neon colours against the black.

example contents page 1 mixmag
This is a contents page from mixmag.. This edition is the November 2010 edition As you can see it has an interesting 2 colour scheme of black and gold. This fits in with the music genre of dance as the black is a strong bass colour and the gold is soft but decorative over the top. The font also represents this as there is no sans serrif meaning that it is very nicely rounded representing tonal music. It also uses modern terminology like "banter" this appeals to my target audience as they see that the magazine uses this kind off language an instantly know the vibe it lets off. The contents page is in block format with the picture on the left and the information on the right. This is a clear layout and although this has nothing to do with my target audience it is appealing to everyone and everyone can easily see what happening and where. Overall I will take the 2 contrasted colours from this design and the rounded font as I believe that these are very suitable for a dance magazine.
